- 1. We will have Two Chinese tests on this Thursday and Friday (02/15 & 02/16). The tests questions will be on YCT (Youth Chinese Test) Level one vocabulary words (For listening part and reading part): The YCT is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency. It assesses young students' abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives. The YCT level one test consists of a listening and reading test.

- A Big Wind Blows (game): A Big Wind Blows is a noncompetitive substitute for the game of musical chairs. A student said "大风吹-A Big Wind Blows" and other students need to response "吹什么-Blow for what?". The student may says a sentence like "A cold wind blows for anyone in first grade" then everyone in first grade need to switch the chairs.

Math:
Monday (02/12) :
- Lesson: 8-2 Numbers mode with tens.
- 10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones, called a "ten."
- The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
- Show groups of 10 with connecting cubes.
- The decade numbers to 100 are built on groups of ten. When there are only tens, counting by 10s can be used to find how many there are in all.
Tuesday (02/13):
- Lesson: 8-3 Count with groups of tens and leftovers.
- Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. Understand the following as special cases: a. 10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones, called a "ten." b. The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones. c.
